Global link Communications is pleased to announce our 1st annual Greener Airways Award to be given in June 2009. This award represents the dedication and environmental awareness of moving from discovery to an action plan.

The Greener Airways Award Winner
- Will be a Global Link Communications client with a global and/or multi-office footprint
- Promotes and maintains corporate policies supportive of green initiatives locally and globally
- Will have demonstrated a significant reduction in travel where possible, while increasing conferencing use

- Will have a strong ratio of conferencing usage to the number of active chairpersons in their company

- Is a company that has transitioned from environmentally aware to a proactive action plan

- Continues to support initiatives and collaboratives in reducing their company's carbon footprint

Develop Your Own Greener Airways Plan
Every step taken, small or large, represents an important contribution to the improvement and maintenance of our global environment. While the path to Greener Airways includes a significant reduction in physical travel, the reduction of the consumption of fuel, altering driving habits and frequency, an increase in instances of telecommuting where possible, and an overall reduction in the amount of energy we use, there are many small steps we can take to have an equally important impact on a greener environment.

Small Steps to a Smaller Footprint

- Use electronic invoices

- Eco-friendly cleaning products in the office

- Convert to recycled paper

- Use less paper

- Print on both sides of paper and reduce margin sizes

- Use a projector rather than printing your presentations

- Use email rather than hard copy memos

- Turn off your monitor every night, at lunch and during breaks

- Drink from reusable mugs and glassess rather than disposable ones
